It almost feels regrettable to conceal this masterpiece behind any exterior panels because the interior is so rich that a touch of silver and black paint can make it an intriguing spectacle. Bandai recognizes this, and they are planning to release an optional parts set for this kit, complete with transparent body components, expected to be available in December. This set will also feature a luminous beam saber for added visual appeal.

When it comes to this kit, it's difficult to find fault. While a few weapons may be absent (likely reserved for a future release), it more than fulfills your expectations in terms of detailing and articulation. Even the small actuators in some joints mimic hydraulic pistons, moving in and out as you adjust them, such as in the wrists. Furthermore, a watch battery (CR1220) illuminates the eyes in the head, activated by a discreet switch on the rear. Additional features include wings on the core fighter that automatically fold when you retract the nose for docking.

For devoted Gundam enthusiasts, there's no doubt about whether to add this to your collection. Even if you don't intend to paint or glue any parts, be ready for several evenings of cutting, trimming, and assembling before your masterpiece takes shape. After all, there are a total of 626 components across 23 runners, forming a model that stands at an impressive height of nearly 31cm and a width of 13cm, boasting 66 articulated joints and 29 opening hatches.
