Tamiya 1/35 PZ.KPFW.IV AUSF.G Early

During WWII, the Pz.Kpfw. IV served as the German Army’s main battle tank. Following the invasion of the Soviet Union, the Ausf. G variant, equipped with the L/43 7.5cm KwK40 gun, was developed to counter heavily armored Russian tanks like the T-34. A total of 1,930 units were produced between March 1942 and June 1943. Equipment varied by production period, with early models featuring a shorter barrel and rounded muzzle brake. The Ausf. G saw action on the Eastern Front and in North Africa, posing a formidable threat to both Russian and British forces due to its exceptional armor penetration and long-range firepower. British troops nicknamed the Ausf. G used by Rommel’s Africa Corps the “Mk. IV Special.”
