Tamiya 1/35 King Tiger Production Turret

The formidable King Tiger tank made its debut in 1944, during the final stages of World War II, and quickly earned a reputation as one of the most feared vehicles on the battlefield. It featured formidable armor—150mm at the front and 80mm on the sides—and was powered by a 700hp Maybach HL230-P30 engine. The first 50 units were equipped with a Porsche-designed turret, while subsequent production models used the refined Henschel turret. Armed with the powerful 88mm L/71 gun, an improvement over the Tiger I’s weapon, the King Tiger could penetrate up to 170mm of armor from a distance of one kilometer. Approximately 430 units were produced before production ceased in March 1945, remaining a formidable presence until the war’s end.
